Manchester United say midfielder Paul Pogba is recovering from a knock sustained against Newcastle United and will join his team-mates on a warm weather training camp later this week.

The first-team squad flew out to Dubai immediately after the 2-0 victory over Reading in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday, with interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer adamant that the squad improve their fitness.

Pogba, who missed the game at Old Trafford, did not depart with the squad yesterday and the club issued a statement to clarify his situation.

"Paul Pogba has not completely recovered from the knock he sustained against Newcastle and stayed back for treatment, but he will join his Manchester United team-mates in Dubai soon in preparation for the Tottenham game," the statement read.

After falling out of favour during Jose Mourinho's final days in charge, the French World Cup winner has blossomed under Solskjaer, claiming four goals and four assists in December.

The Red Devils will look to make it six wins from six under Solskjaer when they make the trip to Wembley next Sunday to take on Spurs.
