A thigh injury picked up by Gareth Bale in Real Madrid's 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid could see the Welsh star miss his country's Nations League clash with the Republic of Ireland on 16 October.
Bale did not come out for the second half at the Bernabéu after looking one of Real's more lively players during the first half. He clipped a volley just wide from a free-kick by Toni Kroos.
On the extent of Bale's injury, Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui said: "He had discomfort in his adductor at half-time and as a precaution he didn't come out for the second half. We will test him tomorrow (Sunday) and we'll see."
Exactly 12 months ago, an injury to Bale forced him to miss Wales' world Cup qualifier against Martin O'Neill's side, and his absence was felt as a 1-0 defeat ended their hopes of a play-off.
However, he was very much to the fore as the Welsh swept the Irish aside 4-1 in their Nations League opener on 6 September. That was followed by 2-0 loss away to Denmark, so Ryan Giggs' men will be keen to get back on track when they visit Dublin in just over a fortnight's time.
