Cork City defender Sean McLoughlin and Yeovil Town centre-back Shaun Donnellan have been drafted into the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad.

Ireland face Germany at Tallaght Stadium on Tuesday, September 11, with kick-off at 6pm, following Friday's 1-1 draw against Kosovo.

The squad returned to Ireland yesterday and trained at the FAI National Training Centre, Abbotstown ahead of Tuesday's fixture. Yeovil Town defender Shaun Donnellan trained with the squad whilst McLoughlin is set to link up with the squad later this evening.

It is the former UCC man's first call-up to the U21 squad and joins Dundalk midfielder Jamie McGrath and Derry City duo Ronan & Rory Hale in the squad from the SSE Airtricity League. Donnellan missed the Kosovo draw through injury but is now in contention for the Germany fixture.

Ryan Sweeney and Ronan Curtis are both suspended for Tuesday's qualifier following their third yellow card of the qualifying campaign.
