Dundalk winger Jamie McGrath has been called up to Noel King's Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for the crucial UEFA European Championships qualification double-header against Kosovo and Germany.
Ireland are second in Group 5, three points behind Germany with a game in hand. King's charges will qualify automatically if they win the group and enter the play-offs if they finish as one of the best runners-up.
The tournament takes place next June in Italy and San Marino.
Ireland travel to Kosovo tomorrow for the showdown in Mitrovica, which kicks off this Friday evening [6pm Irish time], before taking on the Germans next Tuesday, September 11, at Tallaght Stadium [6pm].
McGrath has been rewarded for his impressive form with the Lilywhites, who are sitting pretty at the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
Yeovil Town defender Shaun Donnellan has been ruled out of both games through injury while QPR winger Olamide Shodipo is also sidelined.
Leeds United's Connor Shaughnessy is recalled to the squad and Everton's Harry Charsley also comes back in after he was ruled out of the Azerbaijan victory through injury.
The Hale brothers, Ronan and Rory, who both scored in the 3-1 win over Iceland in March, also keep their places.
"The players are really looking forward to the week ahead and the squad are excited about the fixtures," said King. They've got themselves into a great position.
"Jamie is a player I've been watching for some time and has really impressed for Dundalk this season. It's also great to have Harry Charsley back in the squad after injury.
"The group are missing a few players, the likes of Connor Dimaio, Olamide Shodipo and Shaun Donnellan so we'll have to come together and work hard during the week to get the results we need."
