Jamie Carragher returned to his role as a Sky Sports football expert in a Premier League season preview show last night after the spitting controversy in March
The 40-year-old was suspended from his role when he spat from his car at another transporting a 14-year-old girl and her father, who had been taunting him about Manchester United's earlier victory over Liverpool.
Carragher recently met Sky Sports' managing director Barney Francis to discuss his future with the organisation, and, after he demonstrated the extent of his regret, it was agreed the former Liverpool defender would return to his role for the new domestic campaign.
He made a brief appearance in July, giving an interview following England's World Cup semi-final defeat to Croatia.
Carragher featured prominently on Tuesday in Sky's Premier League Launch Show, which included interviews with the likes of Pep Guardiola and Vincent Kompany.
He settled back in, exchanging jibes with fellow pundit Gary Neville.
The former Liverpool and England defender apologised for the spitting incident in March, saying at the time it was a "moment of madness", while Sky Sports said he had fallen "well below the standards we expect".
Press Association Sport understands Carragher is expected to be involved in the broadcaster's coverage of matches on Monday and Friday evenings in a similar role as before.
