Ireland winger James McClean will complete his transfer to Championship club Stoke over the weekend, the club have said. 

The Derry man fell out of favour at the Hawthorns last season and a statement on the Stoke website confirmed that the 29-year-old underwent a medical today. 

Earlier this month the Baggies announced that McClean missed out on a training trip saying he "failed to report without permission and will now face internal disciplinary proceedings."

McClean, who also played with Derry City, Sunderland and Wigan, has 59 Ireland caps and was one of the better performers during the Boys in Green’s World Cup 2018 qualification campaign.
