After a superb World Cup campaign, Paul Pobga must transfer his international form to the Premier League if he is to cement his place among the lit of world football, according to Eamon Dunphy.
The 25-year-old was a key performer as Les Bleus were crowned world champions after seeing off Croatia 4-2 in Moscow.
The Manchester United midfielder has struggled to find his best form following his €105m transfer from Juventus in 2016, and was dropped by Jose Mourinho on number of occasions last season.
The RTÉ soccer pundit, who has been highly critical of the Frenchman in the past says that Didier Deschamps side were "deserving champions" in Russia, with Pogba a key past in their success.
"He played football we have never seen him play, way beyond what he has ever done at Manchester United," he told 2fm’s Game On programme.
After excelling against Belgium in the semi-final, Dunphy says Pogba’s performance in the final was "superb", getting in on the scoring act in the six-goal finale.
"Deschamps in that structure of the French camp was able to get him back on track. Now he has to stay back on track"
"His hair was its normal colour for this tournament, there was no YouTube nonsense.
"It begs the question, where has that Paul Pogba been since he joined Manchester United?
"Deschamps in that structure of the French camp was able to get him back on track. Now he has to stay back on track."
