Republic of Ireland have risen to 26th in the latest FIFA World Rankings after the wins over Moldova and Wales secured a play-off spot for the 2018 World Cup.

Martin O’Neill’s side will be unseeded for tomorrow’s draw for the play-offs with confirmation that Switzerland, Italy, Croatia and Denmark are the seeded nations.

Northern Ireland join the Republic of Ireland as an unseeded country in the draw, but have fallen to 23 in the latest standings.

In the draw, which is live on RTÉ Player on Tuesday from 1pm, a seeded team will be drawn from pot 1 and then an unseeded side from pot 2.

Both balls will then be placed into a third pot and will be drawn one after the other. The team drawn first will be at home in the first leg.

The eight teams will play two matches with home and away legs, which are scheduled to take place between 9-14 November.
