Cork City boss John Caulfield is hoping for a packed house at Turner's Cross on Monday as his side bid to get that final point needed to win the League.

Cork had another opportunity to seal the title against Bohemians in Dalymount on Friday but had to satisfy themselves with a battling 0-0 draw. That might have proved enough to collect the trophy but for Dundalk's 87th minute winner against Bray Wanderers in Oriel Park.

On Monday night, a point will be enough assure them of the league title as Derry City come to town. Derry demolished Finn Harps 3-0 on Friday night, a result which left their Ulster neighbours in a perilous position with two games remaining. Kick off time for the match has been switched from 7.45 to 7.20pm on Monday evening.

"I said at the start of the season that the league is 33 matches,"  Caulfield told RTÉ Sport.

"You get nothing easy and in the first half I thought we played really well. But Bohs tore into us in the second half.

"In the first half we should have possibly had a penalty. It was a game where we didn’t do enough chances wise in our forward play.

"We probably didn’t create enough, we are one point from the title. We are at home Monday night and we have three games to go so it is in our own hands and we will drive on."

Although Caulfield admitted that there was some disappointment in the dressing room after the game he insisted that the focus has to shift to sealing the deal on Monday night.

"We are still in a fantastic position and we are at home. We just have to play a bit better and pass a bit better.

"All my life playing with the club supporting the club we found it very difficult to win trophies - it is twelve years since we won the league.

"We put ourselves in a good position and that’s the way it is. We need a top performance at home Monday night and there is no doubt we will have a full house."

Cork City v Derry City will be broadcast live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player from 7.0pm on Monday.
