Ian Bermingham believes St Pat's have the hunger for the fight required to maintain their Airtricity League Premier Division status and put a difficult campaign behind them.
Liam Buckley's side turned over Shamrock on Monday night to chalk up a huge three points in the battle against the drop.
That win hosted them up to eighth, two points clear of the drop zone, but Bermingham - who struck the first in a 2-0 victory at Richmond Park - is taking nothing for granted.
"We knew we needed to win the game. It's a great win for us," he told RTÉ Sport.
"It was just a battling performance really from us and we know we need to do that from now until to the end of the season to make sure we stay up.
"I think we deserved it for the workmanlike performance we put in. We're delighted.
"It's vitally important that we all chip in. Christy (Fagan) is the best striker in the league. He is going to get us goals but we've got to chip in all around the pitch. We're not out of the woods yet. We've got to keep going and keep going to the end."
With three teams going down this year, the scrap for survival is more intense than ever.
Pat's face Limerick, Galway United, Cork City and Derry City in their final games, and more twists and turns are inevitable.
Bermingham finds it difficult to pinpoint why the Saints' season has unravelled, considering the quality they have in the ranks, but is confident they have enough to get out of trouble.
"I can't put my finger on it. There's probably a number of reasons why. But look, we are in the position we're in. We've just got to make sure we get out of it.
"We've got some good players here but it just hasn't happened this season.
"It's a different type of pressure we're in, but we'll relish it and go right to the end."
