Ireland manager Martin O’Neill has lost another midfield option for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier with Austria after Eunan O’Kane was ruled out, but John O'Shea and James McClean trained fully.
The 26-year-old Derry native has returned to his club, Leeds United, with a groin problem.
O’Kane, who has five caps, joins midfielders James McCarthy and Stephen Quinn on the sidelines.
The FAI also confirmed that defender O’Shea and winger McClean took full part in training in Dublin this morning before flying to Vienna.
Shane Long, Stephen Ward, Cyrus Christie and Daryl Murphy were already ruled out through injury.
The travelling squad now consists of 27 players, including Dundalk duo Andy Boyle and Daryl Horgan.
