Daryl Horgan will be aiming for more silverware when Dundalk take on Cork City in tomorrow’s FAI Cup final and such is his growing reputation that a number of scouts will be at the Aviva Stadium to watch the Galway native.

The Irish Independent report that representatives from Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Ipswich, Reading and Preston, along with three MLS clubs, will be in attendance at the Dublin 4 venue to run the rule over Horgan, who earlier this week was named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the World Cup qualifier against Austria.

The 24-year-old was also named the Players' Player of the Year and was to the fore as Dundalk went down narrowly to Zenit St Petersburg in the Europa League on Thursday last.

Horgan’s team-mate Andy Boyle will also be under the microscope from the scouts  in the cup decider, along with Cork’s Sean Maguire and Kevin O’Connor.
