Robbie Brady was conscious in the aftermath of a gruesome clash of heads with Soloman Kvirkvelia in the second half of the Republic of Ireland’s win 1-0 win over Georgia at the Aviva Stadium.
Brady was stretched off after colliding with the Georgian as he headed the ball wide.
The FAI confirmed that Brady was conscious in the dressing-room to ease concerns over the Norwich City man, and it is unlikely he will be fit for the Moldava match on Sunday.
He has been taken to hospital for a scan with Martin O'Neill confirmed he was suffering from concussion.
Jeff Hendrick will definitely miss the game after picking up a yellow card.
