Martin O’Neill has named an attacking side for tonight’s clash with Georgia, while injury concern James McCarthy will start in midfield.

The Everton man has not played since 23 August but has fully recovered from his groin injury and will play the holding role in midfield.

There is no place for Wes Hoolahan in O’Neill’s starting XI with Robbie Brady playing a more advanced role as Stephen Ward has been named at left back.

Seamus Coleman will captain the side from right back and is joined in defence by Ciaran Clark and Shane Duffy, who served a suspension for the Serbia game.

Jonathan Walters, James McClean, Jeff Hendrick and Shane Long, no doubt, leading the line, make up the midfield and attack, with Darren Randolph, as expected, starting in goal.

Ireland team: Randolph, Coleman, Clark, Duffy, Ward, McCarthy, Hendrick, Brady, McClean, Walters, Long.

Substitutes: Lawlor, Rogers, O'Shea, Keogh, Whelan, O'Kane, Hoolahan, Christie, Meyler, McShane, Hayes, Pearce
