Claudio Ranieri insists Leicester City can't win the Champions League, despite his side making the perfect start in Bruges on Wednesday night.

The English champions are in a winnable group that also features Porto and FC Copenhagen- they drew 1-1 on the night - but the Italian is doing his best to dampen expectations.

"No, no, it's not possible," Ranieri told RTÉ Sport. "I'm sure.

"We have to do a good Premier League season and try to make experience in the Champions League. That is our desire.

"We won the first match but the group is long and we have to wait and stay calm."

Leicester produce a typical display of counter-attacking brilliance to crush the Belgians 3-0, with goals from Riyad Mahrez (2) and Marc Albrighton easing them to victory.

"It was very important to start well in the Champions League, the first in our story," said Ranieri.

"It was a good match. Brugge had control of the ball but we had control of the match."
