Cork City are through to the semi-final of the FAI Cup are also in pursuit of Dundalk at the top of Airtricity League Premier Division.
Good times indeed for all concerned on Leeside.
On Friday evening, John Caulfield's side put five goals past Shamrock Rovers en route to making the last four. RTÉ analyst Brian Keer said "it was the best performance" he's seen from any Cork side.
And while Caulfield was full of praise for the demolition job his side carried out at Tallaght Stadium, he nevertheless is keen for them to remain grounders, with the Hoops to make the visit to Turner's Cross next week for a league clash.
Speaking to RTÉ Sport, the Cork boss said: "We played really well. I keep saying that this is a decent team and there are a lot of goals in this team. For the last three weeks we have shown that.
"We got some real quality goals. Our finishing was clinical. Seanie (Maguire) was bang on form and our pace and movement up front was really good. Our passing was superb, as was the hunger and work rate."
"But we need to drive on now. We must concentrate now on the league match. The cup semi-final is in a month's time."
As for the prospects of Cork winning a league title, Caulfield added: "We have a chance of winning a league and we want to maintain the high standards we have set ourselves."
