West Brom have signed Nacer Chadli from Tottenham for a club record fee of £13million.

The midfielder has penned a four-year deal but his fee will soon be eclipsed when the Baggies complete an expected £15million deal for Malaga's Ignacio Camacho.

Belgium international Chadli spent three years at Spurs and becomes Albion's third signing of a frustrating summer with boss Tony Pulis targeting a host of signings before Wednesday's deadline.

Chadli told the club's official site: "I feel very good to be here. It came very quickly but I spoke to the club and they have a good team, a good manager and I am very pleased to be here.

"My ambitions? I just want to help the team win as many games as possible."

Pulis added: "He's a top, top player and I'm delighted we've got him. I said last week that these signings all had to be about players who would improve our squad - and Nacer does precisely that."

Chadli, 27, arrives after making 119 appearances, scoring 25 goals, for Tottenham after joining from Twente for £7million. He played 40 times for Spurs last season but has not featured for Mauricio Pochettino's men this term.

Chadli's arrival paves the way for Callum McManaman to leave, with Newcastle linked with the winger after Pulis confirmed he expects the former Wigan man to depart before Wednesday.

Southampton have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal from Lille for a club-record undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Morocco international has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at St Mary's.

Boufal said: "I'm very, very happy to sign for Southampton and I am really excited to play in St Mary's Stadium in front of the fans.

"Southampton showed big interest in signing me, and I can see that this club is the best place for me to continue my progression as a footballer.

"I hope I can achieve many great things with Southampton. It is a very good club, with excellent facilities, and I feel it is the perfect environment to continue my development."

Rafael Benitez is hoping to push through his 12th summer signing in the next 48 hours as Newcastle close in on a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Christian Atsu.

It is understood the Magpies are in talks with both the club and the player and hope to bring the 24-year-old Ghana international to St James' Park for the remainder of the season.

Atsu joined the Blues in a £3.5million switch from Porto in September 2013 but is yet to make a senior appearance for the club and has been loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga since his arrival.

A successful completion of the discussions would cap an eventful few days for Newcastle, who defeated fellow Sky Bet Championship promotion hopefuls Brighton 2-0 on Saturday evening and then pushed through deals for Ipswich's Republic of Ireland striker Daryl Murphy and Palermo's Morocco international full-back Achraf Lazaar.

Liverpool have agreed a £6m deal to sell midfielder Luis Alberto to Lazio.

It’s understood that the Serie A side will pay £4.3million up front with a further £1.7million in add-ons dependent on European qualification.

Liverpool have also included a 30% sell-on clause in the deal.

Alberto, a signing by former manager Brendan Rodgers, failed to establish himself at Anfield after arriving for £6.8million three years ago and made just 12 appearances in his maiden season.

The 23-year-old Spaniard spent the last two campaigns on loan at Malaga and Deportivo La Coruna.

Palermo have made a double swoop for former West Ham midfielder Alessandro Diamanti and Brazilian forward Bruno Henrique.

The Sicilian side have taken just one point from their two opening Serie A fixtures, prompting manager Davide Ballardini to strengthen his squad.

Former Italy international Diamanti, who spent time on loan at Watford last season, arrives on a free transfer after leaving Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.

The 33-year-old has penned a two-year deal with an option for a further season.

Henrique has signed a four-year contract after joining from German side Wolfsburg.

The 25-year-old only arrived at the Volkswagen Arena in January but managed only eight Bundesliga appearances during his time with the club.

Transfer rumours

The Mirror is reporting that Everton midfielder James McCarthy is close to leaving the club with Crystal Palace a potential destination, while Newcastle have seemingly ruled out making a move for the Ireland midfielder.

Manchester United look set to miss out on Monaco defender Fabinho, who is expected to stay in the south of France, reports the Daily Express.

James Rodriguez will cost Chelsea £60million, according to the Daily Mirror, who write that the Premier League club have had a bid rejected by Real Madrid.

Palace are also closing in on Chelsea striker Loic Remy, according to Sky Sports.

Another player that could leave Stamford Bridge is Kurt Zouma, with the Mail reporting that German side Schalke are chasing the 21-year-old.
