Republic of Ireland and Blackburn defender Shane Duffy has become Championship side Brighton’s record signing.
Duffy is believed to have cost Chris Hughton’s side a fee in excess of £4m.
The-24-year-old, who started his career with Everton, scored two own goals and was then dismissed as Cardiff defeated Blackburn 2-1 last week to leave his side propping up the Championship table.
The Derry native scored an extra-time winner in this week’s EFL Cup win over Crewe, but also scored at the wrong end against Wigan earlier this season.

Speaking after finalsing the deal for the rangy centre-half, Hughton told the club website: "I'm delighted that our perseverance has finally paid off and we've completed the signing of Shane; he's an excellent addition for us.
"He has a lot of experience for his age, having played in the Premier League, Championship, Europa League and international football for Ireland.
"He's a very good defender, and alongside our existing options he now gives me four quality, senior options for the two central defensive positions."
