Micheal Schlingermann has penned a fresh deal with Sligo Rovers that will keep him at the Showgrounds until 2018.
Schlingermann returned west the end of 2015 to the club where he started his career seven years ago, becoming one of boss Dave Robertson’s first signings after his appointment.
After spells with Athlone Town and Monaghan United, he excelled with Drogheda for three years, being named keeper of the year despite his team getting relegated last year.
He has brought that form into this season with Sligo, missing just one game so far through injury to make a total of 25 appearances with nine clean sheets. The 25 year-old passed the 150 career appearances mark earlier this season.

Robertson said Schlingermann is a key part of the club’s future. “I am over the moon with this signing," he told sligorovers.com.
"Micheal is a key part of the project we have going on here. Moving forward we know what Micheal is capable of bringing to us. Goalkeeper is a massive position in any team and it important to have that secured.
“He has proven this year his value to the team with his performances, particularly in some of the key games we have had. He will definitely be a key part of the future of this team.”
