Oman to play Cork and Limerick ahead of Ireland friendly

Oman will play friendly fixtures against Cork City and Limerick ahead of their game against the Republic of Ireland on 31 August.

Oman will play Cork on Tuesday 23 August at Turner’s Cross, kick-off 7.45pm, while they visit Market’s Field to take on Limerick on Friday 26 August at 7pm.

Oman then take on Ireland at the Aviva ahead of Martin O’Neill’s side’s opening World Cup qualifying match away to Serbia on 5 September.

Meanwhile, the SSE Airtricity League have announced a number of fixture changes in the Premier and First Division.

In the Premier Division, Derry City's trip to Shamrock Rovers will now take place on Tuesday 30 August with kick-off at 8pm having originally been postponed on Friday 8 July.

Four other fixtures in the Premier Division, which were originally postponed due to European competition, have been rearranged to take place on Tuesday 6 September.

They are; Finn Harps v Cork City at 8pm, Galway United v Shamrock Rovers at 7.45pm, St. Patrick's Athletic v Bray Wanderers at 7.45pm and Sligo Rovers v Dundalk, 7.45pm.

In the First Division, Limerick's trip to UCD, which was originally scheduled for Friday 26 August, will now take place on Sunday 28  August at 6pm.

Due to the EA SPORTS Cup final between Limerick and St. Patrick's Athletic, Pats' Premier Division fixture against Dundalk on Friday 16 September and Limerick's First Division game against Athlone Town on Saturday 17 September has been postponed.

New dates for these two fixtures will be announced in due course.
