Swansea City have broken their transfer record to sign striker Borja Baston from Atletico Madrid for £15.5 million on a four-year contract.
Swansea's previous transfer record was the £12 million spent to sign Wilfried Bony from Vitesse Arnhem in July 2013.
The 23-year-old Baston, who came through the ranks at Atletico, scored 18 goals while on loan at Eibar in the Spanish top flight last season.
He has also had loan spells at Murcia, Huesca, Deportivo La Coruna and Real Zaragoza.
Baston has been capped by Spain at the under 16, under 17 and under 19 levels and follows in the footsteps of compatriot and World Cup winner Fernando Llorente, who made the switch from Spain to the Liberty Stadium last week.
Sunderland boss David Moyes has returned to former club Manchester United to complete a £5.5million double swoop for defenders Paddy McNair and Donald Love.
The 21-year-olds have both put pen to paper on four-year deals and take Sunderland's number of summer signings to three.
Moyes said: "Paddy is a young, athletic player who is improving all the time. He has experience for Northern Ireland and we want to bring as many international players to the club as we can.
"Donald comes highly recommended and is another young player who I hope can develop and improve here."
He added: "I want to add some young players to the squad as well as some senior players and both of them have got really good potential and the opportunity to improve.
"I want to bring in players who are here for the long term as well as the short and hopefully these two are here for the long term."
Central defender McNair heads for Wearside having played his part in Northern Ireland's successful Euro 2016 finals campaign after breaking into the first team at Old Trafford, while Scotland Under-21 international full-back Love, who can also play in midfield, tasted both Premier League and Europa League action with United last season.
They follow £8m Senegal defender Papy Djilobodji to the Stadium of Light and their arrival will further fuel speculation that Lamine Kone could be on his way out of the club.
Ajax Amsterdam have taken Bertrand Traore on loan from Chelsea for the season, Dutch media reported on Thursday.
The 20-year-old Burkina Faso international, who made his Premier League debut last December, arrives after Polish international striker Arek Milik moved to Napoli.
Traore will be reunited with coach Peter Bosz under whom he played at Vitesse Arnhem from 2013-15 on loan from Chelsea. He scored 16 goals in 14 Dutch league appearances at Vitesse.
Traore would be available for Tuesday's Champions League playoff fixture against Russia's Rostov, the reports added.
Bournemouth have announced that forward Josh King has signed a new four-year contract.
The 24-year-old joined Eddie Howe's Cherries on a three-year deal from Blackburn last summer but has been rewarded with an extension for an impressive first season at the Vitality Stadium.
He was the team's top goalscorer with seven goals in all competitions, including six in the Premier League which helped the south-coast side avoid relegation in their first ever top-flight campaign.
Watford striker Odion Ighalo has signed a new five-year contract at Vicarage Road.
The Nigeria international, who scored 17 goals in 42 appearances last season, had been linked with a move away this summer with West Brom reportedly keen on signing him.
But the club have announced that Ighalo, 27, has followed Hornets captain and strike partner Troy Deeney in committing his future to the club until 2021.
