Dundalk will play the home leg of their Champions League play-off at the Aviva Stadium, it has been confirmed.
The Lilywhites used Shamrock Rovers’ home ground at Tallaght Stadium for their stunning 3-0 win over BATE Borisov on Tuesday, as Oriel Park does not come up to UEFA standards past the second qualifying round.
The Football Association of Ireland has now announced that the Premier Division champions will use the national stadium for the home leg.
The draw for the UEFA Champions League play-off round will be live on RTÉ News Now and RTÉ Player on Friday morning, with the games taking place on 16/17 and 23/24 August.
Manager Stephen Kenny said: "We're delighted that our next game will be at the Aviva Stadium.
“The players want to play on the biggest stage and in the national stadium. What we dream of in this League to play in the Aviva Stadium and to have it full - that does not happen very often.
"We experienced playing there with the FAI Cup Final last year so it is great to get to play in the Aviva Stadium again. We are very appreciative of the FAI's help in that regard."
