Besiktas could offer Liverpool misfit Mario Balotelli a route out of Anfield after their president expressed a desire to sign the Italy international.
Fikret Orman believes the 25-year-old, who did not travel with the Reds for their tour of the United States after being deemed surplus to requirements, could be a good fit for the Istanbul-based club.
He admits, however, had it not been for Balotelli's reputation for being difficult they would not stand a chance of attracting him.
"Mario Balotelli is the type of footballer that our fans can associate themselves with," he told Turkish magazine Fanatik. "I'm pretty sure he would attract great attention.
"To be fair, if he wasn't deemed as a trouble-maker, he wouldn't be rumoured to be joining us.
"But we can show some effort and create solutions for Balotelli's infamous troubles. I think he can change with the attention and care he'll receive in Turkey.
"In short, we want Mario Balotelli and he wants us too."
Villarreal have signed former AC Milan and Chelsea striker Alexandre Pato from Corinthians.
The 26-year-old Brazilian, who scored one Premier League goal during a loan spell at Stamford Bridge last season, made his name with 51 Serie A strikes across six years with Milan.
Pato left Italy for Corinthians in 2013 but is now back in Europe after agreeing a four-year contract with Villarreal. The LaLiga club announced the signing on their official website on Wednesday.
And after passing a medical and putting pen to paper at El Madrigal, he wrote on Instagram: "I'm very happy to accept the next challenge of my career at Villarreal. I'm fired up and ready to go!"
Capped 27 times by Brazil, Pato has won the Serie A title with Milan and the Campeonato Paulista with Corinthians.
Ciro Immobile has returned to Italy to sign for Lazio after struggling to make an impression abroad.
The 26-year-old striker was Serie A's top scorer in 2013-14 thanks to a haul of 22 goals from 33 appearances for Torino, and his performances secured a big-money move to Borussia Dortmund.
But after notching only three times in the Bundesliga, he was allowed to join Spanish club Sevilla, for whom he scored only twice before returning to Torino on loan in January.
Lazio have now decided to recruit the Naples-born forward on a reported five-year contract, announcing the transfer's completion on their official website on Wednesday afternoon.
Immobile was part of the Italy squad which reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 in the summer.
Zinedine Zidane has hinted that Real Madrid are still interested in signing Manchester United target Paul Pogba, insisting "anything can happen".
Juventus' Pogba looked set for an Old Trafford return with Jose Mourinho ready to splash a world-record fee on the France international.
However, reports in Spain suggested that his agent Mino Raiola has stalled over a dispute regarding his fee in the deal and the European champions are monitoring the situation.
Pogba is currently holidaying in Miami while Real are also in the United States ahead of a pre-season tournament.
Speaking ahead of his side's first outing against Paris St Germain in Columbus, Zidane told a press conference: "I do not know if he'll come.
"Until 31 August anything can happen. Pogba is a great player and when you're with Madrid you always want the best.
"But today he is not a Madrid player, he is with Juventus. I cannot say anything else."
Australia international left back Brad Smith has joined Bournemouth from Liverpool on a four-year contract, the Premier League clubs said on Wednesday.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but British media reported that Bournemouth had paid £3m for the 22-year-old.
Smith made 10 appearances for Liverpool under manager Jurgen Klopp last season and scored against Exeter City in the FA Cup in January.
He made his debut for the Australian national team in a friendly against Belgium in September 2014 and has been capped nine times by his country.
Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has completed his move to Barcelona after passing a medical and putting pen to paper.
The Portugal international arrived at the Nou Camp last night following an announcement last week that a reported €35m deal had been agreed between the two La Liga clubs.
He completed the formalities by officially signing his contract on Wednesday morning.
The 22-year-old, who was part of Portugal's Euro 2016-winning squad, spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Valencia from Benfica before making the move permanent last summer. He made 78 appearances for Los Che, scoring nine goals.
Gomes won the Portuguese treble - the league and two domestic cups - with Benfica in 2013-14, when they were also Europa League runners-up for the second successive season.
He is Barca's fourth signing of the summer, following fellow midfielder Denis Suarez from Villarreal and France defenders Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne from Lyon and Paris St Germain respectively.
Meanwhile, Javier Mascherano has agreed a new three-year contract at Barcelona to end speculation about his future.
The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer, with strong rumours of a transfer to Juventus, but he has now committed his future to the Catalan club.
Sporting director Albert Soler said: "An agreement has been reached and Mascherano will continue at Barcelona for the next three years."
The 32-year-old, who joined from Liverpool in 2010, has made over 250 appearances for the club, winning 16 trophies.
Elsewhere, Marko Arnautovic has signed a new four-year deal with Stoke.
The Austria international, the Potters' top-scorer and players' player of the year last season, had been linked with a move to Everton.
The 27-year-old has been a big hit at the Bet365 Stadium since his arrival from Werder Bremen in 2013 and had one year left on his previous contract.
Stoke's hopes of keeping on to one of their prized assets might have been helped by his quiet showing at Euro 2016, where Austria bowed out in the group stages.
But he hinted that he had options to debate before committing himself to the club on a long-term basis.
Writing on his Instagram page, alongside a picture of his contract signing, Arnautovic said: "I am proud and thrilled to finally let you know I am going to remain a Potter and will continue playing with my team and for my fantastic fans.
"I suppose sometimes it takes a bit longer to make the right decision and this one comes from my heart. My family and I could not be happier. Can't wait for the season to begin!"
Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes added: "We are delighted that Marko has decided to commit his long-term future to the club.
"It has been a lengthy process but these things often are. Marko is settled in England and very happy at Stoke City which is why he has taken the decision to re-sign for a further four years. It's a major boost to us as we prepare for the new season."
Arnautovic's new contract is the latest act in a busy week for the club, who have signed Wales midfielder Joe Allen from Liverpool and also brought in Ramadan Sobhi.
