Bohemians manager Keith Long bemoaned his side's lack of cutting edge after the struggling Dalymount club suffered a home defeat at the hands of Derry City.
Rory Patterson's tenth-minute strike ensured the three points went north as Bohs failed to turn their second-half possession into an equaliser.
Long expressed his disappointment in the performance and admitted his side had been out-worked on their own pitch by the Candystripes.
"I'm disappointed in the manner in which we lost," he said.
"I thought we were second best for large periods of the first half, Derry played particularly well I felt, they are a well organised team and they work extremely hard.
"And I thought we didn't work as hard as them in the first half, and we spoke about it at half-time.
"They were probably a little bit lucky with the goal, but it was decent build-up play before that. I'm just really disappointed with our performance.
"We probably didn't deserve anything from the game on the balance of it."
Bohs have scored just four goals in six league games since putting five past St Pat's at the end of May and Long knows that working hard to create - and convert - more chances is the only way to improve results.
"There's only one thing that matters in football and that's putting the ball in the net, and we didn't work their goalkeeper enough," the 42-year-old said.
"We had a chance right at the death and Mark Quigley has a chance one v one, but Ger Doherty does really well and Mark takes it early.
"We had possession of the ball but we didn't really have a cutting edge.
"The responsibility is on us, we have to do more to win football matches and just at the moment I'm wondering how hard we're working."
