Watford have signed Ivory Coast right back Brice Dja Djedje from Olympique de Marseille on a four-year contract, the Premier League club confirmed.
No financial terms were disclosed but British media said the fee was about £2million.
The 25-year-old began his career at Evian Thonon Gaillard in 2011 before moving to Marseille in January 2014. He made 23 appearances last season.
He is Watford's fifth signing of the close season, following strikers Jerome Sinclair and Isaac Success, Belgian Christian Kabasele and fellow defender Colombian Juan Camilo Zuniga.
Mario Gotze has completed his move back to Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich.
The Bundesliga rivals agreed a fee to allow the deal for Gotze to go through on Thursday.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Westphalians, for whom he played until moving to Munich three years ago, with the fee reported to be between €23 million and €28 million.
"I'm personally really pleased that Mario has decided to return to Borussia Dortmund," said Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke.
"I had always hoped when he left here in 2013 that one day he would come back."
Gotze's departure to Bayern had been announced on the eve of Dortmund's Champions League semi-final tie with Real Madrid, and it drew widespread criticism.
Germany's 2014 World Cup final match-winner was given a hostile reception by Dortmund fans on his first return to the Westfalenstadion in a Bayern shirt.
Rubin Kazan have reached a provisional agreement to sign Alex Song from Barcelona, the Russian club have announced.
Song, 28, spent the last two seasons on loan at West Ham from Barca, making 47 appearances in total for the Hammers.
The former Cameroon international, who moved to the Nou Camp from Arsenal for #15million on a five-year deal in 2012 , is now set to play for Rubin next season.
Rubin said on their official Twitter account: "Rubin announces they have reached a provisional agreement on the transfer to the Kazan club of Alexandre Song."
Brendan Rodgers is hoping to add to his Celtic squad before they face Astana in next week's Champions League third-round qualifier.
The Hoops got through to the next stage with a 3-0 win over part-timers Lincoln Red Imps at Parkhead, completing a 3-1 aggregate win.
Three first-half goals from defender Mikael Lustig, striker Leigh Griffiths and winger Patrick Roberts settled the tie before the break with the second half a mere formality.
Rodgers was pleased to get past the Gibraltarians and will look to bolster his options before Thursday night's deadline, and before the long trip to Kazakhstan.
Asked how realistic the prospect of signing some new players would be, he said: "Hopefully, that is what we are looking at.
"There is no doubt we need one or two more in that I want to bring into the team so let's hope we can do something before that (window) closes tomorrow.
"That would be the plan, hopefully we could do that and that would be a great boost to the squad."
