Liverpool have reportedly accepted a £13million bid for Joe Allen from Stoke.
The Wales midfielder, currently on leave after his exploits in getting Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, is in the final year of his contract.
Allen is looking for more playing time, having been restricted to mainly Europa League appearances last season.
Stoke's bid is roughly in line with Liverpool's valuation of a player with less than 12 months remaining on his contract - and would recoup most of the £15million they paid Swansea four years ago - so the decision is now likely to rest with the player himself, who is not due back to pre-season training until July 26.
Middlesbrough have agreed a deal to sign Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo on a seaon-long loan.
Paperwork is still to be completed but the 30-year-old former Manchester City forward has already linked up with Boro at their pre-season training camp in Marbella.
Negredo was a member of the City side which won the Premier League title in 2014.
The Spain international impressed at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 23 goals in 48 appearances in what proved his only season at the club after a #16.4million move from Sevilla in 2013.
He returned to Spain with Valencia in the summer of 2014, initially on loan before a £19million permanent deal was agreed last year.
He boasts 112 goals from 264 appearances in La Liga and was also a member of Spain's victorious Euro 2012 squad.
It has been a busy summer for Boro manager Aitor Karanka with Antonio Barragan, Victor Valdes, Viktor Fischer, Bernardo Espinosa, Marten de Roon and Jordan McGhee also joining the promoted side.
Schalke 04 attacking midfielder Leroy Sane wants to leave the Bundesliga club, sporting director Christian Heidel Winger has confirmed.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to English Premier League side Manchester City by British and German media.
Sane was part of Germany's squad at Euro 2016. He scored eight league goals and grabbed six assists for Schalke last season as the club finished fifth in the standings.
"Leroy has made it clear, he would like to leave this summer. We will consent to a transfer if Schalke's conditions are met," Heidel told Sky Sports.
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has claimed that Riyad Mahrez wants to stay with the Premier League champions.
Mahrez has been linked with a big-money move away from the Foxes after playing a key role in their title-winning campaign, with Barcelona, Paris St Germain and Arsenal among the clubs touted as possible destinations.
However, Ranieri says the 25-year-old Algeria winger - last season's PFA Players' Player of the Year - is not looking to leave the King Power Stadium.
Asked after Leicester's 2-1 friendly win over Oxford on Tuesday night if Mahrez had spoken to him about his future, Ranieri told Sky Sports News: "Yes, he wants to stay."
The Italian added about trying to keep hold of his best players: "I think everybody here is happy and then it's finished, the market has finished."
