Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not heading to China on Manchester United's pre-season tour.

United take on Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on Friday and then head to Beijing for a mouth-watering friendly against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on Monday.

England internationals Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford and Chris Smalling are included in the 25-man travelling party, so too David De Gea and Northern Ireland’s Paddy McNair after also exiting Euro 2016 at the last-16 stage.

Ibrahimovic's Sweden were knocked out even earlier but Jose Mourinho has decided to give the 35-year-old an extended break, although fellow summer signings Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan do head to the Far East.

Luke Shaw will continue to step up his fitness after making his return from long-term injury in the weekend friendly at Wigan, while Axel Tuanzebe, Will Keane and Andreas Pereira will get a chance to impress on the week-long trip.
