Transfer news: Stoke in hunt for Nani

Assistant manager Mark Bowen has confirmed Stoke's interest in Portugal international Nani.

The former Manchester United winger, currently preparing for a Euro 2016 semi-final against Wales, left Old Trafford for Fenerbahce last summer after a season on loan at Sporting Lisbon.

Potters boss Mark Hughes is keen to bring the 29-year-old back to England, although he faces competition from Valencia.

"I know there is an interest there. Valencia are a big club but it is the draw of the Premier League," Bowen told talkSPORT.

"He is player that Mark admires a lot and he has had a very good tournament. Without giving too much away, there is an interest there and let's see what happens.

"In my opinion, he left the Premier League far too early. He had his time at Manchester United and had been a big player for them and he seemed to drift away rather than step into another club in the Premier League.

"If he is ready to come back, then I'm sure there will be a lot of clubs interested in him."

Meanwhile, The Daily Express reports that Manchester City are poised to sign goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli from Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado to provide competition for Joe Hart.

The Daily Telegraph believes Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is close to joining Everton.

The Sun says Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj will tell boss Jose Mourinho he wants to leave the club permanently if he is not in the manager's first-team plans.

And Crystal Palace could sell Yannick Bolasie this summer, with West Ham favourites to sign the winger - according to the Daily Mirror.

The Daily Star suggests new Southampton manager Claude Puel is plotting a £12.5million move for Lille defender Djibril Sidibe.

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Marten de Roon from Serie A side Atalanta.

The 25-year-old Dutchman impressed during his one season in Italy, having started out at Sparta Rotterdam and then Heerenveen.

De Roon joins Viktor Fischer and Bernardo Espinosa at the Riverside Stadium as manager Aitor Karanka prepares his squad for life back in the Premier League.

Middlesbrough said on their official club website the transfer fee paid for De Roon would remain undisclosed.
