Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi looks set to complete a move to Chelsea with reports in England suggesting he has already passed a club medical ahead of a proposed £33m transfer.

Batshuayi has been linked with host of European clubs after hitting 17 goals for Marseilles last season and came off the bench to find the net in the 4-0 against Hungary in the round of 16 tie.

It is believed Belgian coach Marc Wilmots granted the striker special dispensation to leave the squad as they prepare for their quarter-final clash with Wales in order to meet club officials.

It is now expected that the 22-year-old will become Antonio Conte’s first signing as Chelsea manager.

West Ham United and Crystal Palace were among the Premier League clubs interested in Batshuayi, with the Eagles understood to have had a bid accepted by Marseilles before the Blues entered the race for the coveted striker's signature.

Batshuayi's scheduled media appearance with Belgium was cancelled on Wednesday at the request of the Ligue 1 club.
