Derry City 2-0 Bray Wanderers

Derry City easily got the better off a disappointing Bray Wanderers side to move into third place in the Airtricity Premier Division table.

First-half goals from Joshua Daniels and Nathan Boyle was enough for Kenny Shiels' side to claim all three points, at a sun-drenched Brandywell.

Wanderers had a good chance to take an early lead but after breaking the offside trap Dylan Connolly took too long when inside the box and Ryan McBride got back to deny the winger.

City broke the deadlock on seven minutes thanks to Joshua Daniels' second goal of the season.

Some neat skill and pace by Nathan Boyle saw him get half a yard inside the box, but his drive, which had Wanderers keeper Peter Cherrie beaten, rattled the post and Daniels gleefully side footed home the loose ball.

Derry doubled their advantage on 21 minutes as Boyle's pace caused problems when he latched onto Aaron Barry's through ball and although the striker's first effort was kept out by the out-rushing Cherrie, the striker made no mistake turning home the rebound.

Just before the break some hard work by Schubert ended with his pass finding Keith Ward, but the ex-Dundalk man saw his 20 yard effort flash just wide.

Derry were inches away from scoring a third on 60 minutes Schubert raced clear down the right before finding Niclas Vemmelund, who turned well inside the box, but fired just wide.

Minutes later Wanderers went close to pulling one back but Connolly's close range header was superbly kept out by Gerard Doherty.

Soon after more good play by Connolly down the right ended with is centre finding an unmarked Robbie Creevy, but he somehow headed wide from six yards.

Late on the woodwork came to Wanderers rescue when Aaron McEneff's strike came back off the post.
