Dundalk and Shelbourne to meet in the FAI Cup

Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup holders Dundalk will face seven-time winners Shelbourne in the second round of this year’s competition.

Elsewhere, Shamrock Rovers - the most successful team in the history of the competition - will face minnows Midleton as part of a packed first day of a thrilling FAI Cup weekend.

The first games will kick off next Friday, while further matches will follow on Saturday and Sunday.

If any fixtures go to replays, there will be a quick turnaround, with many of the potential ties scheduled for the following week.
