Bray Wanderers 2-3 St Patrick's Athletic (AET)
Mark Timlin produced a wonderful extra-time chip to send St Pat's into the last four of the EA Sports Cup after a pulsating clash at the Carlisle Grounds on Monday afternoon.
Timlin provided a moment of magic just when Liam Buckley's men needed it to swing a ding-dong collision their way.
Billy Dennehy broke the deadlock for the visitors on 53 minutes, needing two attempts to fire past Peter Cherrie.
The lead only lasted six minutes though as Dylan Connolly expertly guided past Brendan Clarke.
Jamie McGrath almost won it for the Saints in normal time when his header crashed off the bar, but he rippled the net six minutes into extra-time to put his side in the ascendancy again.
Bray wouldn't lie down though, as Gareth McDonagh latched onto Ger Pender's ball to level things up before Timlin finally settled it with a sumptuous chip over Cherrie with 110 minutes on the clock.
Shelbourne 1-1 Shamrock Rovers (Rovers win 3-2 pens after ET)
It's familiar territory now for Shamrock Rovers, as they booked their place in the semi-finals for a fifth-consecutive season, by holding their nerve in the shoot-out.
An own-goal from Danny North put the home side in front after 28 minutes as his attempted clearance from a Shels corner ended in the back of the net.
The Hoops drew level after the resumption when Dean Clarke's crisp shot found the corner of the net.
There were no more goals in normal or extra time and the Hoops had to play with ten men after the dismissal of Robert Cornwell in the 87th minute.
However, it was James English who missed the crucial spot kick for the hosts and that ensured Pat Fenlon's side progressed.

Derry City came from behind to see off Cork City after extra-time at Turner's Cross. John Caulfield made changes to his side and they hit the front after nine minutes when Mark O'Sullivan netted.
The Candystrips levelled on 39 when Barry McNamee drilled home a low shot from the edge of the box.
The winner came in the fifth minute of extra-time when Dean Jarvis was on hand to head home Nathan Boyle's cross.
