Republic of Ireland supporters who have missed out on tickets for Euro 2016 may yet have a final chance to see their team play in France.
UEFA have confirmed that they will put the final remaining unsold tickets for the tournament on sale via a specially created portal on 26 April.
Supporters can register their interest on that portal now to be notified when tickets for certain matches become available, as all tickets will be sold on a first-come first serve basis.
There are no indications yet whether or not any tickets for Ireland games will be available but UEFA did reveal that the tickets that go on sale will include those that have been revoked due to unauthorised resales.
A statement from UEFA confirmed: “A ticket portal will open on 26 April where fans can purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. Supporters are advised that, with the excitement for the event building, these tickets will sell out quickly.
“These tickets have become available from a variety of sources. Firstly, as we get closer to the tournament, the layouts of the stadia have become clearer, which has allowed UEFA to finalise the exact number of seats for each venue.
“Secondly, some tickets initially reserved for fans of a number of participating teams have not been taken up and these tickets will now be made available to the general public.
“Finally, UEFA will also make available for sale some tickets, which, due to UEFA’s successful legal efforts to minimize unauthorized resale, have been cancelled as a result of the breach of the ticketing terms and conditions by previous tickets holders.”
