Bray Wanderers have parted company with manager Mick Cooke after just one win in eight SSE Airtricity Premier Division matches this season.
Cooke took over at the Carlisle Grounds last July after months of turmoil, becoming the fifth boss of the club in the 2015 campaign.
They sit joint-bottom of the table, with a solitary victory over 11th place Sligo Rovers so far this year.
Assistant manager Harry Kenny took charge of the EA Sports Cup success over Bluebell United last Tuesday.
Kenny will remain in control of first-team affairs on a caretaker basis.
A Bray Wanderers statement read: "Bray Wanderers FC wish to announce that Mick Cooke is no longer manager of the first Team or head coach.
"Harry Kenny has agreed to take on the role immediately of caretaker manger of our first team.
"We are arranging that the services of our coaching staff at Under-19 and Under-17 level will be placed at his disposal. Their role will be to provide full support over the next few weeks.
"The Board and Club thank Mick Cooke for his time with the Club. We acknowledge his efforts, in particular, last season.
"Our immediate concerns are to improve our first team position in the SSE Airtricity League where we sit last – bearing in mind the difficult matches over the next few weeks.
"We will also be going through the process of appointing a full time Manager to take responsibility for the first team.
"We ask our supporters for their patience and support of the team during this period."
