Longford Town v Bray Wanderers, 7.30pm
The league campaign may be only three games old but Longford will view the visit of bottom side Bray as a real chance to put a gap between themselves and the relegation places.
Tony Cousins' men will perhaps consider themselves unlucky not to have taken anything from their last game when a red card and a 65th-minute Christy Fagan goal gave St Patrick's Athletic a narrow 1-0 victory at City Calling Stadium.
However it's unlikely that games against St Pat's and their like will define Longford's season; instead it will be scraps against the teams in the bottom half.
Cousins' side have already got the better of Wexford Youths and a win against Bray would put six points between Longford and the visitors.
Bray meanwhile need to find a way to stop leaking goals. The Seagulls have already conceded 10 goals in their opening three games and scored just once.
Gone is the pre-season optimism that surrounded Bray following the summer break and the reality of a relegation battle is already setting in.
Sligo Rovers v Finn Harps, 7.45pm
After picking up their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Galway last Monday, Sligo Rovers will be hoping to kickstart their campaign when they welcome Finn Harps to the Showgrounds.
It's been a slow start to the season for Sligo who have suffered defeats to Dublin sides Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians, but manager Dave Robertson is hoping that some home comforts will encourage his side.
"It is good to be getting straight back out there again after Monday," he said. "It will be our fourth game in two weeks but the work we did in pre-season has us prepared for that.
"The pitches we have played on so far have also been a bit heavy but I walked the pitch at the Showgrounds today and it is in really good condition now for tomorrow. Having that is really conducive to the passing playing style that we have. It has come good quickly and I am pleased as it suits our game."
There’s mixed news on the suspension front for Rovers. Craig Roddan and Kieran Sadlier are available for the first time since getting red cards against Shamrock Rovers two weeks ago.
But striker Phil Roberts is ruled out due to his sending-off in the Galway game.
Harps have lost their last two to Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers respectively after beating Derry City on the season’s opening night, and manager Ollie Horgan said they pose a massive threat to his side.
“Sligo will pose a very different and difficult task from Shamrock Rovers,” said Horgan.
“They are very quick and explosive and play very attractive attacking football. We will be starved of possession against them.”
The Harps boss will again pick from the same squad which went down 1-0 to Shamrock Rovers on Monday night as Ciaran Coll, Barry Molloy, Sean Houston, Josh Mailey and Michael Rafter all remain sidelined.
