Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has admitted he was fined €2,250 by Wolfsburg after turning up late for training on Monday.
"I just slept in and didn't hear my alarm" - Nicklas Bendtner
The 28-year-old, who spent nine years at Arsenal before signing for the Bundesliga outfit two years ago, was fined €50 for every minute he was late after missing the first 45 minutes of the session after sleeping in.
"I just slept in and didn't hear my alarm," the 28-year-old Denmark international told Germany's Bild newspaper. "It's my mistake."
The Danish forward arrived at the club on a free transfer but has fallen out of favour, with coach Dieter Hecking admitting he is no longer under consideration.
Bendtner has scored four goals in 24 appearances this season, including an equaliser against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup back in August which the club won on penalties.
