The SSE Airtricity League season kicked off this weekend and for Finn Harps it provided a special night in the North-West derby.
Harps were making their return to the top flight for the first time since 2008.
With a family rivalry and quite an amount of emotion, the game provided a huge occasion for football fans in the region.
The late Mark Farren was remembered by both sets of fans and the drama provided a fitting tribute to the legendary striker.
RTE’s Barry O'Neill was among the 4,500 fans at Finn Park as Harps emerged 2-1 winners, a first win over City in 18 years.
