Former Tottenham and Arsenal goalkeeper Pat Jennings has warned against the north London rivals placing too much emphasis on their derby clash this weekend as they continue to battle for the Barclays Premier League title.
Saturday's lunchtime kick-off at White Hart Lane has been touted as one of the biggest-ever meetings between Spurs and the Gunners, who are currently second and third in the table respectively behind surprise leaders Leicester.
Jennings has no doubt it is a "massive" fixture, but has also emphasised any winner of it will still have plenty of work ahead of them in this thoroughly unpredictable season.
The 70-year-old former Northern Ireland international said: "Tottenham-Arsenal matches have always been massive, so nothing had changed there - it is just the fact it could be a step towards winning the Premier League this time.
"But it is so important you win every game. Take each one as it comes. Even if you are to win on Saturday, that doesn't guarantee anything.
"You have to keep it going."
As Jennings acknowledges, even then, the current table-toppers could still prove uncatchable.
The latest Premier League games over Tuesday and Wednesday this week saw a home draw for Leicester against West Brom end up proving a decent result, with subsequent defeats for Tottenham and Arsenal leaving the Foxes three points clear of the former and six ahead of the latter.
Manchester City, also beaten in midweek, are 10 points off the top in fourth with 11 matches to play, one more than each of the three teams above them.
And Jennings, now a goalkeeping consultant with Spurs' academy, added: "You only have to look at how unpredictable every game and the whole league is.
"There are still a lot of games to be played and anything can happen. Leicester could still be there at the end of the day.
"Only time will tell and I wouldn't want to be putting my money right now on who is going to win the league - but I am hoping it is Tottenham."
With Spurs enjoying an impressive campaign, their boss Mauricio Pochettino has had plenty of admirers and there have been reports suggesting other major sides could look to lure the Argentinian away.
But when asked if he expected Pochettino to still be with Tottenham next season, Jennings said: "Yes, absolutely.
"I think he has done a fantastic job and I can't see him even contemplating going anywhere else.
"You would think it would be the last thing on his mind.
"Hopefully he will go on with the club from here, going from strength to strength."
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has endured more criticism after his side followed up Sunday's 3-2 loss at Manchester United with a 2-1 home defeat to Swansea on Wednesday.
Jennings, though, says he only has admiration for the Frenchman, and he cannot see Wenger's Gunners tenure - which will reach 20 years later in 2016 - coming to an end any time soon.
"I would think only he will make the decision about when he goes and he looks like he is still enjoying it - the team are still right up there," said Jennings.
“He has done an unbelievable job. Arsenal have built a new training ground and stadium, qualified for Europe every year, won trophies.
"It doesn't get much better than that, so I only have admiration for the job he has done at the club."
