Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri hailed Jamie Vardy's wonder goal against Liverpool and insisted he was back to his best.
The striker scored a brilliant opener from 30 yards to sink the Reds before sealing the victory with his 18th goal of the season to clinch a 2-0 win and keep the Foxes top of the Barclays Premier League.
He is in talks to extend his Leicester deal until 2019 and Ranieri was in awe of his striker's first goal, where his half volley flew past Simon Mignolet after Riyad Mahrez's long ball.
Vardy ended a seven-game goal drought against Stoke last time out and had minor groin surgery in January but Ranieri believes he has rediscovered top form.
He said: "It's incredible what Vardy did. He watched the ball, watched the opponent and watched the keeper. It's amazing, fantastic. This opened the match.
"Now he is refreshed, a new Vardy, he pressed a lot, worked very hard and scored a goal."
It set up a mammoth game at Manchester City on Saturday with Leicester still three points ahead of second-placed City.
"On Saturday we have to run, run and run a lot," Ranieri said. "It's important to see my players fight and try to win. We know sooner or later we'll lose a match but it's important how we lose. If there is a great goal, well done, but we have to fight. If Manchester City fight more than us, well done to them."
Vardy, who shone in front of England boss Roy Hodgson, confirmed he intends to stay at the King Power Stadium.
He told Sky Sports: "It's nothing people don't know, I'd like to be here for a long time. I don't [think I've scored better].
"I had been looking all game and he [Mignolet] was quite far off his line. As soon as Riyad [Mahrez] had played it through it's bounced quite high and I've got no support so I just took my chance and luckily it's gone over the top of him."
But Ranieri remained coy about Vardy's contract talks, joking: "I don't know this, I'm not [a] manager. I'm just head coach. I'm sorry - Pinnochio."
Even Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp took time to acknowledge Vardy's effort. He added: "It's nice to be in a stadium when Jamie Vardy makes the goal of the month but in an ideal world not when you're the manager of the other team. It made the difference."
Klopp, though, was less than happy with his side's decision making and felt they could have taken something from the King Power Stadium.
He said: "We had opportunities in the box but we didn't find the right decision often enough.
"The longer the game was we didn't get cooler, the decisions didn't get better. We had the ball in their box and didn't shoot. One second later Vardy shoots from 35 yards and the ball was in. This says most about the game. I don't feel too good."
