Northern Ireland fans have been allocated an extra 4,000 for the Euro 2016 finals in France.

Michael O'Neill's men take Germany, Poland and Ukraine in Group C and the IFA had initially received 25,000 tickets for the hugely anticipated collisions. That figure has now risen to 29,058, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

It's a welcome boost to the North and comes in the wake of the Republic of Ireland getting over 6,000 extra tickets for the finals after discussions between the FAI and UEFA.

The IFA received 50,000 applications from supporters, with more than 275,000 Republic of Ireland fans looking to get their hands on a ticket for the group stages.

It will be the North's debut appearance at a European Championships and first at major tournament since the 1986 World Cup.

New allocation for Northern Ireland supporters for Euro 2016:
Northern Ireland v Poland - 6,816 (6,000 + 816) - June 12, Stade de Nice
Northern Ireland v Ukraine - 12,726 (11,000 + 1,726) - June 16, Stade de Lyon
Northern Ireland v Germany - 9,516 (8,000 + 1,516) - June 21, Parc des Princes
