Darren Pratley scored an 87th-minute equaliser as Championship strugglers Bolton avoided a humiliating FA Cup loss at non-League Eastleigh.

An own goal from Dorian Dervite early in the second half put the National League side in sight of a famous giant-killing victory in their third-round tie at a rainswept Silverlake Stadium, but Pratley spared Bolton's blushes.

West Brom's James Morrison also struck a last-gasp equaliser as the Premier League side snatched a 2-2 draw against Championship Bristol City.

Morrison levelled in injury time after goals from Jonathan Kodjia and substitute Kieran Agard had seen the Robins come from behind to lead with just six minutes remaining at The Hawthorns.

Saido Berahino, with his first goal for almost three months, had opened the scoring for West Brom in the 67th minute.

Premier League basement side Aston Villa also avoided an upset are still without a win under Remi Garde after being held to a 1-1 draw by League Two Wycombe.

Captain Micah Richards gave Villa a 22nd-minute lead, but Joe Jacobson levelled with a penalty after Ashley Westwood caught Matt Bloomfield with a flailing arm.

Richards then became embroiled in a heated pitch-side debate when he stopped to talk with Villa fans after the game, with the supporters clearly angry at their side’s recent terrible form.

Holders Arsenal had to come from behind in their all-Premier League tie against Sunderland.

Jeremain Lens struck early for the relegation-threatened Black Cats, but Joel Campbell quickly replied and two goals in the space of three second-half minutes from Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud put the Gunners through.

The Gunners are bidding to become the first club to win the trophy three times in succession since Blackburn Rovers in the late 1800s

Everton also made it through to the fourth round, ending the hopes of fourth- tier Dagenham and Redbridge with a 2-0 win at Goodison Park.

Hartlepool, another fourth tier side, took the lead against former English champions Derby County but lost 2-1 while Portsmouth, FA Cup winners in 2008 but now floundering in League Two, earned a 2-2 draw at Championship club Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich Town.

Watford beat Premier League rivals Newcastle United 1-0, Crystal Palace overcame Southampton 2-1 and West Ham United edged past Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 at Upton Park.

McCarthy admitted his Ipswich side deserved to be on the end of an up shock rather than a 2-2 draw after a late Ryan Fraser equaliser prevented lower league Portsmouth from winning at Portman Road

Against the run of play, after a first half in which they were second best in all areas, Ipswich took a 53rd-minute through Tommy Oar.

"I think Portsmouth probably deserved to win - I thought they were excellent. I was relieved to go in at half-time 0-0 though I did think we were better in the second half.

"It was disappointing to concede almost straight after scoring but it was testimony to my players that we kept going and didn't get beat.

"We were below par but they are one of the better League Two teams and they have a lot of quality."
