Shamrock Rovers have signed Killian Brennan ahead of the 2016 SSE Airtricity League season.

The midfielder returns for his second spell at the Dublin club, having played for the Hoops 24 times in the 2012 season before joining St Patrick's Athletic.

Speaking about Brennan's return, Rovers manager Pat Fenlon, who worked for several seasons with the stylish midfielder at Bohemians, said: “I am delighted to get Killian, he is one of the best players in the league over the past few seasons. We fought off stiff competition from St Pat’s to get his signature and I am delighted we have been able to secure it.

"Killian has probably played more games for me than he has with any other manager, I know his game, I know what he can do for Shamrock Rovers and he knows what I expect from him. He also brings experience to our squad that will enable our younger players to learn from him.

Killian can change games and be a match winner on any given day; we look forward to working with him at Rovers in the new season”.

The club also confirmed that defender Maxime Blanchard has agreed terms for 2016 and has re-signed.
