Leigh Griffiths has signed a bumper new contract with Celtic which ties him to the club him until 2021.

The 25-year-old Scotland striker signed for the Scottish champions from Wolves in January 2014. 

Griffiths, who is Celtic's top scorer this season with 19 goals, is relishing the prospect of at least five more years in a green and white jersey.

He told the club's official website: "I love putting the Celtic top on every time and feeling that expectation to win every week.

"I'm looking forward to the next five years in the Hoops as we look to add to the trophies already won."

Griffiths has ruled himself out of the Ladbrokes Premiership clash with Motherwell at Parkhead on Saturday.

The sharpshooter has missed the last two matches with a calf injury and is hoping to be back next week.

Midfielder Nir Bitton returns after missing last week's win at St Johnstone with a knock but long-term injury victims Scott Brown (knee) and Charlie Mulgrew (thigh) remain out.
