Steven Beattie insisted a "hungry" Cork City are targeting league and cup glory next season after committing his future to the club with a two-year contract.
Beattie joined Cork in July from Sligo Rovers and made 14 league appearances, scoring three times.
John Caulfield's men were edged out by champions Dundalk in the FAI Cup final, but Beattie is confident success is just around the corner for the Leesiders.
“This is where I want to be and that is why I have committed to the two years. It is a very exciting time for the club; John has fantastic plans and I am just delighted to be part of it for another two years," he said.
“He is bringing in lads who are hungry for success. We were close the last two seasons but I think this year it will be very interesting to see how things are when everyone comes in. It is very exciting, I can’t wait to get going and I wish the season was starting tomorrow.”

“We want to win the league, we want to win the cup. That’s why I signed back, that’s why other people are signing, we want to be successful; we are hungry players, we don’t just come here to play football, we come here because we want to win things.
"You can see that hunger around the club; in John (Caulfield), John Cotter and everyone else. This club has been starved of success and hopefully we can bring some back next season.”
Caulfield said he expected the attacker to continue the impact he made when he arrived midway through the season: “Steven is dynamic, energetic and whole-hearted. He scores goals, creates goals and he had a big impact when he came in.
“He always wanted to stay and I am absolutely delighted to get it done, because he is a really dynamic player and a player who really wants to win. I am really looking forward to next season with Steven in the team.”
