Steven Gerrard has confirmed he will train with former club Liverpool next week and is relishing the opportunity to work with Jurgen Klopp.
LA Galaxy midfielder Gerrard has ruled out a return to a playing role with Liverpool and is only training at Melwood during the MLS close season.
The 35-year-old said on BT Sport's Champions League coverage: "I'm going to go in for a couple of weeks and work with Mr Klopp so I'm really looking forward to that, to see what he's about and try and learn a few things from him."
Gerrard played his final competitive game for the club in the 6-1 hammering at Stoke City in the final game of last season, joining LA Galaxy in the summer on an 18-month deal.
The MLS side were beaten in the Western Conference play-offs by Seattle Sounders last month, bringing Gerrard's debut season stateside to a premature end.
Klopp had left the door open to a return for the midfielder, saying earlier this month: "I had contact with Stevie. We had one phone call and a few messages and of course I think I said the doors are always open.
"Stevie is a legend at this club and if he's here in Liverpool and he's young and healthy enough to want to train that is absolutely no problem.
"Nothing else - he didn't ask (about playing) so I don't have to think about it. He is an LFC legend and our doors are always open."
