Richie Towell and Stephen Kenny put the cherry on a brilliant year for Dundalk as they were named PFAI Player of the Year and Manager of the Year respectively.

Midfielder Towell was sensational throughout the Lilywhites' league and cup-winning campaign, netting 29 times - including the decisive extra-time goal that settled the FAI Cup final against Cork City.

His manager Kenny orchestrated that memorable campaign, and both were rewarded at the PFAI awards ceremony in Dublin's Gibson Hotel on Friday night.

Danny Furlong was named First Division Player of the Year after his hugely influential role in Wexford Youths' successful promotion push, while Brandon Miele of Shamrock Rovers scooped the Young Player of the Year award.

Norwich playmaker Wes Hoolahan beat Ireland team-mates Robbie Brady and Seamus Coleman to be name Overseas Player of the Year.
