Aston Villa skipper Micah Richards has been banned for one match with immediate effect by the Football Association.
The defender - who has also been fined £10,000 – missed Monday's Barclays Premier League match at Tottenham after admitting a misconduct charge following Villa's 2-1 defeat to Swansea last month.
The charge related to an incident in the tunnel after the final whistle with Richards still angry following a clash with the Swans' Federico Fernandez which happened during the game.
