Brazil are gearing up for their first competitive home game since they were humbled 7-1 by Germany in last year’s World Cup semi-final.
That humiliating defeat on home soil to the eventual champions was a cause of a national outpouring of emotion, with the players hammered by supporters and the media.
That’s over a year ago now and striker Hulk is hoping that fans will get behind the team when they face Venezuela in Fortaleza on Tuesday.
"The north east is in love with the Brazilian national team," he said.
"I'm sure it will support us to take us to victory. The fans always want to see the national team win and so do we."
Hulk believes that scoring early on will be crucial for his side.
"If we score early, we will bring the fans even more to our side," the Zenit St Petersburg forward said.
"We are all really motivated as no one is accustomed to losing. Most of us players stand out in our clubs and the Brazilian team is no different."
These are tough times for the Brazil team and they lost their opening World Cup qualifier away to Chile last week.
This came on the back of the embarrassment by Germany and their subsequent third place play-off defeat to Netherlands.
They also slumped in the recent Copa America, losing on penalties to in a rare loss to Paraguay.
They are still without captain Neymar, who will complete his four-match suspension on Tuesday.
Coach Dunga will also be without reserve goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe and defender David Luiz, with both sidelined through injury.
