Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given has said he has thrown away his sheet of Group D permutations and is focusing on Thursday night's crucial clash with Germany (7.45pm, live on RTÉ2) as Ireland seek to qualify for EURO 2016.
With Scotland and Poland meeting at the same time before Ireland travel to Poland on Sunday, there are a number of possible outcomes to the group, with six points currently separating Scotland in fourth and Poland in second.
Speaking after training with the Ireland squad, Given said: "It is so complicated what can happen and what can't happen.
"I think it's just important that we focus on what we need to do on Thursday night.
"It's a big game for us, it's a game we've got to focus on, hopefully get a result there. We'll see what has happened in Glasgow after the game, but we can't really lose focus on our own job."
The Donegal man is looking forward to the visit of the world champions to Dublin.
"As a player personally it's exciting to be involved in. It's only Monday but in the back of the mind all you can think of is the Germany game and I've kind of been thinking that for the last few weeks.
"They're the world champions, it's a great opportunity for ourselves as a team, as a nation, to put ourselves up against the best team in the world
"It's not going to be easy but we're looking forward to the game."
"I'm sure the fans will be going in their thousands if we qualify. We've two big games this week and we've got to focus and hone in on them."
Given has only featured twice for his new club, Stoke City, this season, but feels this will not be a disadvantage when he lines up against the impressive German attack.
"I'm nice and fresh, I've not played too many games. I played last week in the League Cup, kept a clean sheet down at Craven Cottage.
"Personally I've been working very hard behind the scenes in the gym and on the training pitch at Stoke and things have been going really well."
With Irish fans at the Aviva no doubt likely to be keeping a close eye on developments in Glasgow, Given said it is a tough game to predict.
"Last month the Scottish played well against the Germans [in a 3-2 defeat], scored two goals and were maybe unlucky not to get a late equaliser.
"We know the Scots are a good team, you know Poland are as well with [striker Robert] Lewandowski and co, he's on song at the minute and it'll be a very tough game for them."
Ultimately, Given will be hoping that Ireland can do enough to reach the European Championships for the second time in-a-row, either through the play-offs or directly.
"As a nation, for the fans and for everyone connected to Ireland, it'd be a great achievement and we'd love to go to France.
"I'm sure the fans will be going in their thousands if we qualify. We've two big games this week and we've got to focus and hone in on them.
"We're all professional, we're all focused on what we have to do and hopefully after Thursday night the picture will be clear and the permutations will be less complicated."
