CSKA Moscow staged a comeback on home soil to overcome Sporting CP to reach the group stages of the Champions League with a 3-1 win at the Arena Khimki.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Portugal, CSKA found themselves in further trouble when Teofilo Gutierrez put Sporting ahead on the night in the 36th minute.
However, two second half goals from Seydou Doumbia put the Moscow outfit 2-1 on the night, with the tie headed for extra-time.
An 85th minute goal from Ahmed Musa put paid to thought of another half-hour of football, putting the hosts through 4-3 on aggregate.
Bayer Lerekusen also overcame a first-leg deficit to reach the group stages, thanks to a 3-0 win at home to Lazio.
The tie turned in a ten minute spell either side of half-time - Hakan Calhanoglu levelled the tie on aggregate in the 40th minute, before Admir Mehmedi put Leverkusen in the driving seat shortly after the break.
A late goal from Karim Bellarabi wrapped up qualification for the German side.
BATE Borisov, the side which knocked Dundalk out in Second Qualifying Round, needed away goals to overcome Partizan Belgrade in the night's other tie.
BATE made their task in Serbia much easier with a 25th minute goal from Igor Stasevich, but goals from Maksim Zhavnerchik and a late, late strike Ivan Saponjic ensured a dramatic finish.
